Cabar Feidh Pipe Band

Secretary/Treasurer Lynne Bauer

Lynne began her pipe band career at Granada Hills High School in Granada Hills, California and with the Balgray Pipe Band, which was run by Pipe Major Cameron MacKay. She continued piping at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio and attended The Gaelic College in St. Ann’s, Nova Scotia. After college Lynne returned to Los Angeles and joined the Clan Donnachaidh Pipe Band which re-united her with friends both from high school and Balgray. After four years with Clan Donnachaidh, Lynne joined the Los Angeles Police Pipe Band and traveled with that band to Scotland in 1986.

At the end of 1987, Lynne joined the Cabar Feidh Pipe Band, which was under the direction of Pipe Major Jimmy McColl. When the secretary/treasurer position became vacant, Jimmy asked Lynne to fill that position and she has been handling the financial and correspondence duties for both Cabar Feidh (and the 53rd Street Cabar Feidh Pipe Band) ever since. Lynne has also become quite proficient at organizing band functions (parties, practice weekends, seminars with Terry Lee and Reid Maxwell, travel to highland games, etc.) and making sure that all band members know where they are going and when they have to be there. If only this job paid a little more, it could have been a career.

“This is the best organized band that I have ever been in!” --Cameron Cairney
